Alene Faye Sumner born September 30, 1948 departed this life on Thursday October 26, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 75-years old. Alene was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Fred Hurley and the late Gracie Combs Hurley. Other than her Parents, Alene was also preceded in death by her Husband, Dewey Sumner; Brothers, Eddie Hurley, Odean Hurley and Fred Hurley, Jr. Alene loved cooking, watching preaching and reading her bible, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Alene Faye Sumner leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Sons, Dewey Hurley of Lexington, KY, Rodney Sumner of Vicco; Daughter, Shonda Kay Wells of AR; Brothers, Ronald Hurley of Vicco, Ralph Hurley of Vicco; Grandchildren, Rodney Sumner, Jr., Madison Hurley, Candice Jent and Ricky Sumner; Great-Grandchildren, Broly Sumner, Will Sumner, Ava Belefsky and Wyatt Belefsky. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Alene Faye Sumner will be conducted on Sunday October 29, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home. The Interment will follow in the Hurley Family Cemetery located at Vicco, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M.
