Allen Chester Colwell born October 12, 1939 departed this life on Thursday January 15, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 86-years old. Allen was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Burley Colwell and the late Laura Colwell. Other than his parents Allen was also preceded in death by his wife and mother of children Betty Jean Colwell, and wife Barbara Rose Colwell, and a host of brothers and sisters.

Allen leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory:  one son, Jackie Colwell & Marie; daughter, Carol Hatton & Jimmy; brothers, Roger Colwell, Lyndon Colwell, and Pearl Colwell; sister, Mildred Morris; grandchildren, William Feltner, Jack Colwell Jr., Ashley Wolbert, Bradley Colwell, Cory Colwell; special friend, Sharon Green; also, a host of great grandchildren,  and friends and family members also survive.

Funeral Services for Allen Chester Colwell will be conducted on Monday- January 19, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at Hazard, KY with Everett Spencer officiating. The Interment will follow in the Baker Cemetery located at Grassy, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Monday January 19, 2026 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
