Alvin "Monk" Barkley Bush born June 29, 1950 departed this life on Wednesday November 8, 2023 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky being 73-years old. Alvin was born in Dwarf, Kentucky the son of the late Jess Bush and the late Maude Cornett. Other than his Parents, Alvin was also preceded in death by his Sister, Billie Jean Mintz. Alvin was a United States Army Veteran and was a great dozer man and took great pride in his work. Alvin loved playing his banjo, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Alvin "Monk" Barkley Bush leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Loving & Devoted Wife of 49-years, Gladys Bush of Dwarf, KY; Son, Alvin Barkley Bush, Jr. "Chip" & Amie of Hazard; Daughter, Myrtle Terry & Travis of Jackson, KY; Son, Michael "Bucky" Wooton & Margo of Lost Creek, KY; Special Sons, Ronald Joe Fortney of Dwarf, Roy Rigsby II of OH; Special Daughter, Hannah King of Knott County; Brothers, Denny Ray Williams of Dwarf, Rayford Cornett & Sandra of Dwarf, Tim Bush of Leslie County; Grandchildren, Easton Terry, Lexie Bush, Jasmine Bush, and Makayla White; Special Friends, Alvin Stacy, Mike Davis, and Glenn Cornett. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Alvin "Monk" Barkley Bush will be conducted on Sunday November 12, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Rick Smith and Randall Short officiating. The Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery located at Mill Branch, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Military Rites will be performed by the Hazard-Perry County D.A.V. Chapter #64.
