Anita Cornett born April 8, 1955 departed this life on Tuesday – December 23, 2025 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 70-years old.  Anita was born in Leslie County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Rufus Asher and the late Wathon Sizemore Asher.  Other than her parents, Anita was also preceded in death by her Grandson, Andrew Smith; Brother, Bob Asher; Sister, Mary Joseph.  Anita was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, she took pride in her home, as she was always there to welcome her family & friends in.  Anita lived life to the fullest and going fishing was one of her favorite hobbies.

Anita Cornett leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Husband of 53-years: Lloyd Cornett of Slemp, KY; Daughter: Barbara Smith & Curtis of Slemp, KY; Sons: Tim Cornett & Judy of Cumberland, KY and Lloyd, Jr. Cornett & Mishayla of Slemp, KY; Brothers: Jim Asher & Phyllis Delphia, KY, Freddie Asher & Margie of Somerset, KY, Eugene Asher of Leslie County, Coy Asher & Serena of Stinnett, KY; Sister: Rose Wells of Hazard, KY; Grandchildren: Chasity, Whitney, Jacob, Jada, Breanna, and Lincoln; Great-Grandchildren: Adalee, Braxton, Kennedi, and Ava; Best Friend: Nellie Smith; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends survive.

There will be a Graveside Service for Anita Cornett on Friday – December 26, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Spencer Cemetery located at Cornettsville, Kentucky with Jeff Neace officiating.
