Bernice Smith born February 9, 1941 departed this life on Friday March 31, 2023 at her residence in Little Leatherwood being 82-years old. Bernice was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Culbert Campbell and the late Vera Dixon Campbell. Other than her Parents, Bernice was also preceded in death by her Husband, James Smith; Four Brothers, Elzie Campbell, Herman Campbell, Lloyd Campbell, and Sonny Campbell; One Sister, Mildred Adams. Bernice loved gardening, flowers, quilting, and sewing.

Bernice Smith leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Son, Brian Smith; Brother, Mearl Campbell; Sister, Opal Harper; Three Grandchildren, Ashley, Angel, and Amber; Two Great-Grandchildren, Grace and Jackson. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Bernice Smith will be conducted on Monday April 3, 2023 at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Kenny Salmons officiating. The Interment will follow in the Hemp Smith Cemetery located at Cornettsville, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on Monday from 10:00 till 12:00 P.M.
