Bobby Franklin Monk born July 26, 1932 departed this life on Saturday May 18, 2024 at his residence in Bonnyman, Kentucky being 91-years old.  Bobby was born in Chattaroy, West Virginia the son of the late Cleve Monk and the late Mary Jane Ward Monk.  Other than his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by his brother, Cleveland Monk; sisters, Viola and Bonnie; granddaughter, Christy Collins.

Bobby was a proud Veteran serving in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954.  Bobby loved playing his guitar and singing, and was a member of the United Christian Fellowship Church for over 40-years.

Bobby Franklin Monk leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 48-years, Bernita Monk of Bonnyman, KY; children, Wayney Couch of Yerkes, Carter Jr. Couch of Yerkes, Lisa Holbrook & Kevin of Big Creek, Melissa Couch of Bonnyman, and Bobby Lynn Monk & Rhonda of Richmond, KY; grandchildren, Nathan, Cameron, Dalton, Dominic, Anthony, Aaron, Allie, Megan, Alfred, and Miranda; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Gage, Ryleigh, Ava, Ryder, and Macie; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Bobby Monk will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.  Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Timothy Morris officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Southeast in Hyden, Kentucky with full Military Rites to be performed.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Christian Fellowship Church at Busy, Kentucky.
