Burnett Napier born September 1, 1924 passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his home in Frankfort, Kentucky being 99-years old. He was born in Bulan, Kentucky the son of the late Chester Napier and the late Gracie Grigsby Napier. He was of the Baptist Faith. Burnett proudly served in the United States Navy/ Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFW Post #4075th, 20-year member of the VFW Honor Guard, American Legion #7, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and past President of the Southern States Correctional Association. He was also a former Chairman of the State Parole Board, past President of the Travelers Protective Association, two-time President of the KY Council on Crime and Delinquency, past President and Founding Member of the Internationally Famous Bodfish Chapter of Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and member of the 1st Marine Division Association.

Burnett is survived by one son, Michael (Toni) Napier of Frankfort, KY; two grandchildren, Taylor (Jen) Napier, Eva Napier; one sister, Wanda Faye Morgan of Hazard, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Christene Hoskins Napier; and his seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Burnett Napier will be conducted on Friday September 6, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will take place on Saturday September 7, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, Kentucky at 10:00 A.M. with Buddy Baker officiating. The Interment will follow in the Curt Napier Cemetery located at Lotts Creek, Kentucky.  His family will serve as pallbearers.
