Carl Akers born November 15, 1949 departed this life on Friday January 23, 2026 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 76-years old. Carl was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Melvin Akers and the late Amanda Dillon Akers. Other than his parents Carl was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Akers.

Carl leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory:  two sons, Melvin Akers, and Raven Akers; daughter, Carlene; brother, Miner Akers; sisters, Ardy Steindoriff, and Kay Akers; and a host of grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Carl Akers will be conducted on Saturday- January 31, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at Hazard, KY with Thomas Neace and Billy Vanover officiating. The Interment will follow in the Hickory Gap Cemetery located at Busy, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Friday January 30, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
