Carolyn Gibson born September 28, 1943 departed this life on Thursday February 21, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 81-years old.  Carolyn was born in Scuddy, Kentucky the daughter of the late Arch Williams and the late Stella Spencer Williams.  Other than her parents, Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Gibson; brothers, Clyde, Charles and Carl Williams; sister, Imogene Holiday; grandson, James Jeremy Farler.  Carolyn loved cooking and had a great sense of humor, always being a prankster.  Carolyn loved her family dearly and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Gibson leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: children, Pamela Burgett of Merrillville, IN, Kelvin Burgett & Pam of Gary, IN, Charlie Burgett & Susan of Gary, IN, Johnny Burgett of Jeff, KY, Marvin Burgett of Red Oak, KY; Bill Burgett & Alisha of Hazard, KY, and Josh Burgett & Jody of Hindman, KY; brother, Winfred Williams of Indianapolis, IN; 11-grandchildren, Tabathia Stafford & Bob, Samantha Gray & Theodore, Jerome Farler & Autumn, Latisha Owens & Gabe, Jordan Burgett, Lute Burgett & Julie, Katelyn Burgett, Austin Burgett, Leslie Burgett & Josh, Kadin Burgett & Kenzie, and Haylee Burgett; 4-great grandchildren, Shelby Stafford, McKenzie Farler, J.D. Farler, and Harley Dawn Burgett; special friend, James Farler; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Carolyn Gibson will be conducted on Thursday February 27, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at 12:00 P.M. with Gene Baker and Greg Kelly officiating, and songs by Tish Owens and a special poem by Haylee Burgett.  The Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Wednesday evening February 26, 2025 from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
