Carolyn Jean Williams born March 13, 1939 departed this life on Friday – May 8, 2026 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 87-years old.  Carolyn was born in Perry County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Shafter Couch and the late Mona Plowman Couch.  Other than her parents, Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Watson Williams, Jr.; son, James David Williams; brothers, Shafter Couch, Jr., Frank Couch and Bill Couch; sisters, Jackie Wooton, Wanda Mae Feltner, Norma Burton, and Magdaline Deaton.  Carolyn was a mother to all she knew, she worked at Combs Daycare Center for many years, as she cherished all the ones she had the honor of caring for and getting to know their families thru the years.  Carolyn was a life-long member of the Combs Baptist Church, where she loved going to church and serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Carolyn Jean Williams leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: sons, Watson Williams III & wife Tina of Bulan, KY and Wayne Grigsby & April of Clear Creek; grandchildren, Cheyenne Everidge & Bradley of Rowdy, KY and Samuel Williams of Combs, KY; great-grandchildren, Paisley Everidge and Avery Everidge; also a host of many other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral Services for Carolyn Jean Williams will be conducted on Tuesday – May 12, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Combs First Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Smith officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery located at Ary, Kentucky.  The visitation will be held on Monday evening at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky at 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
