Charles Edward Campbell born December 7, 1931 departed this life on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 92-years old. Charles was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Boyd Campbell and the late Lily Morgan Campbell. Other than his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his wife, Fern Campbell; son, Charles Edward Campbell, Jr.; brothers, Carl Campbell, Billy Wayne Campbell, Oscar Campbell; sister, Imogene Jones. Charles worked for James River Coal Company for over 30 years, was a Member of Hazard Masonic Lodge #676, and was a Proud Veteran of the United States Navy.

Charles Edward Campbell leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: daughters, Vicki Lynn Stidham & Michael of Hyden, KY, Pixie Lou Caldwell of Hazard; brothers, Jerry Campbell & Jeanie of Corbin KY, Roger Campbell & Martha of AL, Donnie Harold Campbell of MI; sisters, Wilma Hoyle and Linda Sue Trent. Seven grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Charles Edward Campbell will be held on Saturday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday April 20, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Amos Hamblin officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Trent Cemetery located at Brownsfork, Kentucky. Military Rites will be performed by the Hazard-Perry County D.A.V. Chapter #64.
