Charles John Gross born December 6, 1943 departed this life on Tuesday May 9, 2023 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 79-years old. Charles was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Floyd Gross, Jr. and the late Rita Duff Gross. Other than his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his Half-Brother, Sam Gross; Maternal Grandparents, Charlie & Edna Duff; Paternal Grandparents, Floyd & Polly Gross; Nephews, Charles Lawrence Kerr and Lance Douglas Snyder. Charles John was a graduate of Hazard High School in 1960 and became a certified Pharmacist in 1969 and retiring in 2016. Charles John was an honorary Deputy Sheriff, member of the Masonic Lodge, formerly involved with the Boy Scouts, and was an avid marksman who loved competing in shooting matches.

Charles John Gross leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Sister, Rita Gross Snyder of Hazard, KY; Half-Sisters, Janice Horton of Hyden, Pam Ashley of Hazard, and Eloise Cotrel of Missouri; Half-Brothers, Buck Gross of Lexington, KY, Jack Gross of Louisville, KY, Jerry Gross of Hazard, KY and David Gross of Hazard, KY; Cousins, John Frank Gross, Donna Lindon, Stuart Duff, Angela Duff, Larry Perkins, Linda Lane, and a host of additional beloved cousins, and other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Charles John Gross will be conducted on Sunday May 14, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor A.D. "Pete" McGee officiating. The Interment will follow in the Duff Cemetery located at Chavies, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.
