Charles Edward Mercer Jr.  born January 1, 1946 departed this life on Friday – November 28, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 79-years old.  Charles was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Charles Edward Mercer and the late Edna Mercer.  Other than his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Sue Mercer; brothers, Forest, Jack, Neil, and Johnny; sisters, Susie, Patsy, and Mary.

Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Charles Edward Mercer Jr.  leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Children, Jason Mercer & Kendra, Michelle Mullins and John Henry, John Henry Mullins was his son-in-law and dear friend, Johnny Mercer; Charles was Papaw to Amber, Haley, and Molly; special friend, Bret Costello; also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Visitation will be held for Charles Edward Mercer Jr. will be on Wednesday evening at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday – December 3, 2025 at 4:00  P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home.
