Clarence (C.J.) Deaton, Jr. born June 13, 1977 departed this life on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at his residence in Hazard being 46-years old. Clarence was born in Hazard, Kentucky and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Garfield Deaton & Carrie; Andrew Hensley & Mary. C.J. was a Member of the First Baptist Church of Combs and loved fishing and playing sports.

Deaton, Jr. leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: parents, Clarence & Karen Deaton of Hazard; sons, Brandon Deaton of Hazard, Austin Deaton & Jasmine of Hazard; daughters, Haley Deaton & Logan of Hazard, Sierra Deaton & Mike of Hazard; brothers, Jerry Deaton & Kara of Hazard, Caleb Begley of Mt. Sterling, KY; grandchildren, Holden Deaton, Lynix Deaton, Mckynzi Jent, Mckynli Jent, Stetson Deaton; nieces, Natalie Slone & Johnathan; Alexa Bolling & Ben, Karidyn Sparkman; nephew, John David Sparkman; great-nieces, Ella Mae and Brinkley; special cousins, Angie Burris & John, Todd Deaton; special friends, Clinton Watts, Doug Day & Valerie, Charlie Popp. Brandon Slover, Ricky Phillips. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Clarence (C.J.) Deaton, Jr. will be held on Friday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday April 26, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Kenny Smith and Charlie Miller officiating. The Interment will follow in the Mountain Mission Memorial Gardens located at Avawam, Kentucky.
