Dewey Eldridge born February 16, 1953 departed this life on Thursday June 27, 2024 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky being 71 years old. Dewey was the son of the late Elmer Eldridge and the late Laura Farler Eldridge. Other than his parents, Dewey was also preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Kimberly Ann Baker-Whitt; grandson, Christopher Eric Whitt; mother-in-law, Odra Buckner; brothers, Carl Eldridge, Ernest Eldridge, Hiram Eldridge; brother-in-laws, Jr. Shell, Rodney Mabry; sister-in-law, Oma Eldridge. Dewey worked 36 years in the Coal Mines and loved going to church and using his talents to play the bass guitar. He enjoyed going to car shows with his brother John, stepson, Michael and nephew, Eric and riding motorcycles. Dewey was a wonderful Husband, Father and Brother and was a 1971 Graduate of Dilce Combs High School.

Dewey Eldridge leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 47 years, Rebecca Ann Buckner Baker Eldridge; son, Bryan Travis Eldridge of TN; step-son, Paul Michael Baker II of Viper; brother, John Eldridge & Linda of Catletsburg, KY; sisters, Velma Shell of Viper, Sue Riddle & Larry of Hazard, Jeanetta Mabry of Jacksonville, IL, Lois & Willie Watts of Viper. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Dewey Eldridge will be held on Monday July 1, 2024 at the Engle Bowling Funeral Home from 1:00 till 2:00 P.M. Funeral Services will follow at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Monday at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Rodney Smith and Rev. Harry Kemper officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Jeff, Kentucky.
