Donald was born at Hazard, Kentucky the son of Tracey Basemore and the late Joe Lewis. Other than his father, Donald was also preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Fred & Betty Evans; Paternal Grandparents, Robert Beatty & Viola Lewis.

Donald Lee Basemore leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Mother, Tracey Basemore of Tribbey; Daughter, Gabriella Basemore of Hazard; Son, Alaniss Phipps of Owensboro, KY; Brother, Sean Basemore & Brittany of Ary; Aunts, Odessa Evans of Airport Gardens, Pretta Collins & Cleston of Bulan, Rita Evans of Lexington, KY; Uncle, Stephen Evans & Lisa of Winchester, KY; Special Cousin, Tahnee Asher of Hazard; Cousins, Whitney, Keisha, Taeshaun, and Alexis.
