Donna Rae Fugate born February 28, 1956 departed this life on Friday – December 5, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 69-years old.  Donna was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Ray Short and the late Bernice Hayes Short.  Other than her parents, Donna was also preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Henry Fugate; brothers, Jim Short and Ronnie Hughes; sister, Paula Short; brother-in-law, Dean Stacy.

Donna was a devoted Christian, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Sister and Mamaw.  Donna was a member of the Victory Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, where she labored so many years alongside her husband, as they pastored the Church.  Donna was involved in the ministry in many different ways, as she was always checking on folks and praying for them.  She loved all her church family and would want ALL to follow in her footsteps in making Heaven our home as she did.  "Enter thou good and faithful servant".

Donna Rae Fugate leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: sons, Steven Fugate & Ganee' of Bonnyman, KY and Donnie Paul Fugate & Ashley of Hazard, KY; daughter, Jennifer Grigsby & Staven of Hazard, KY; brothers, Lynn Short & Deborah of Hardburly and Ottie Short of Airport Gardens; sister, Carla Kay Stacy of Hazard, KY; grandchildren, Alyssa Hickman & Preston, Kylie Estep & Kenny, Jeryn Fugate, Sawyer Fugate, Addison Fugate, Jordan Burgett, and Leslie Burgett; great-grandchildren, Kyler Estep, Karson Estep, and Harley Burgett; special sister-in-law, Becky Neace & Roger; also a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives, friends, and church members & family survive.

Visitation for Donna Rae Fugate will be held on Sunday – December 7, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday – December 8, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Thomas Neace, Billy Vanover, William Morris, and Johnny Flannery officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Short Family Cemetery located at Hazard, Kentucky.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center at 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
