Rev. Donnie Coots born June 13, 1946 went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 9, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 78 years old. Donnie was born in Hazard, Kentucky the Son of the late Rev. Castle Coots and the late Gladys Coots. Other than his Parents, Donnie was also preceded in death by One Son, Joshua Castle Coots.

Donnie was a Retired Coal Miner, Electrician and taught at the Hazard Vocational School. Rev. Donnie Coots evangelized throughout his ministry and started preaching at the age of 29 and became the Pastor of Jackson Church of God in 1991 and remained there until 1996. Donnie started Pastoring the Maces Creek Church of God in 1998 and was there until 2012 and founded the Joshua's Dream Foundation in 2002 and ran it until 2008.

Rev. Donnie Coots leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Wife of 57 ½ years, Carlene Coots of Viper; One Son, Rev. Jeffrey Scott Coots & Shana of Viper; Daughter, Paula Combs & Lester of Hazard; Grandchildren, Kristen Combs & John, Mckenzi Bailey & Zachary, Kaleb Coots & Melanie, Blake Combs & Kimberly Dyer, Faith Schiess & Brent; Great-Grandchildren, Joshua, Avery, Melody, Isaac, Wrenley and Elijah; Special Friend, Charles Jackson. A host of other family and friends survive.

Visitation for Rev. Donnie Coots will be held on Sunday January 12, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be held on Sunday January 12, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Lyndon Barger officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Causey Family Cemetery located at Viper, Kentucky.  The following will serve as pallbearers: Blake Combs, John Combs, Zachary Bailey, Brent Schiess, Kaleb Coots, and Charles Jackson.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maces Creek Church of God at P.O.
