Douglas Singleton of Hazard, Kentucky, born March 24, 1940 passed away peacefully Tuesday morning April 5, 2022 after an extended illness. His last days were spent surrounded by loved ones at what he referred to as the "Ponderosa", his Nephew's home in the country which he had longed for decades to see. Doug was preceded in death by his Parents, Edmond and Merbia ; the love of his life, Betty; Sister, Lola Tipton, who he adored; and Brother, Donald Singleton.

Doug is survived by his Sister Justine King; Nieces and Nephews, Debbie Akemon, Anna Vaughn, Moriston Combs, Gardner Combs, Marilyn Youngerman and Jackie King (Justine King) along with Great-Nieces and Nephews whom all enjoyed the radiance of his trademark smile. All who knew him would agree, he embodied kindness. We miss you, Uncle Doug.

Funeral Services for Douglas Singleton will be conducted on Saturday April 9, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Larry Gross officiating. The Interment will follow  in the Riverside Cemetery located at Hazard, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 till 12:00 P.M.
