Edna Lou Deaton born March 18, 1946 departed this life on Sunday January 1, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 76-years old. Edna was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Roy Turner and the late Edna Turner. Other than her parents, Edna was also preceded in death by One Sister, Shirley Smith; Four Brothers, R.G. Turner, Billy Ray Turner, John Vernon Turner, and Denvard Turner. Edna was the Business Manager at Buckhorn State Resort Park for 30 plus years and was affiliated with the Johnson United Baptist Church at Buckhorn, Kentucky. Edna loved her flowers and gardening.

Edna Lou Deaton leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Husband of 58-years, Ed Deaton of Buckhorn; Two Sons, Keith Deaton of Buckhorn, Dwayne Deaton & Crystal of Buckhorn, Two Brothers, Danny Turner of Buckhorn, Thurman Turner of Owsley Co.; Sister, Virginia Giselbachs of Fontaine, IN; Grandchildren, Andy Blank of Hazard, Cameron Deaton of Hazard, Keenan Deaton of Hazard; Three Great Grandchildren; Special Friends, Chester Smith and Leon Smith. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Edna Lou Deaton will be conducted on Friday January 6, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Johnson United Baptist Church in Buckhorn with Gary Riley and Chris Turner officiating. The Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery located at Buckhorn, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Johnson United Baptist Church on Thursday evening after 6:00 P.M.
