Elisha Newton Spurgeon, Sr. born November 7, 1944 departed this life on Saturday November 25, 2023 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 79-years old. Elisha was born in Perry County, Kentucky the son of the late James Marcus Spurgeon and the late Octa Sizemore Spurgeon. Other than his Parents, Elisha was also preceded in death by his Wife, Evelyn Rose Spurgeon; Sisters, Marsha Moore, Judy Moore, Bertha Fields, and Beverly Gail Spurgeon. Elisha was a United States Army Veteran and loved fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Spurgeon, Jr. & Lois of Somerset, KY, James Edward Spurgeon of Ary, David Spurgeon of Avawam, KY; Daughters, Octa Elaine Spurgeon & Thomas Bush of Campton, KY, Cynthia Spurgeon Perry of Ary, KY; Brother, Wayne Spurgeon & Lillian of Avawam; Grandchildren, Jamie Stidham, James Junior, Aaron Scott Spurgeon, Beau Spurgeon, Erica Miniard, Lee Spurgeon, Ashley Collins, Dalton Noble, Ian Spurgeon, Eli Spurgeon, Ethan Spurgeon and Eric Payton Spurgeon; A host of Great-Grandchildren and other relatives and friends survive.

Graveside Services for Elisha Newton Spurgeon, Sr. will be conducted on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at the Spurgeon Family Cemetery iin Avawam, Kentucky with B.J. Campbell officiating.
