Eugene "Gene" Campbell born November 27, 1951 departed this life on Thursday November 28, 2024 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 73 years old. Eugene was born in Yerkes, Kentucky the son of the late Pearl H. Campbell and the late Lora Sizemore Campbell. Other than his parents, Gene was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Campbell; his brothers, Tommy Campbell and Billy Ray Campbell; one sister, Helen Mitchell.

Gene was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his family, ginsenging and playing the lottery. His loving and devoted wife, Roberta stayed by his side and gave him the best care possible. Gene will always be remembered for his story telling and the love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren who were his life. Gene's seventy-three years could be summed up his work ethic which spanned many years ranging from local gas stations to his last years as a security guard and the love he shared with his wife, family and his sense of humor.

Eugene "Gene" Campbell leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife, Roberta Campbell of Hazard; loving sons, Robert "Bob" Campbell & Angie of Yerkes, Michael Campbell & Vanessa of Hazard; daughter, Robin Stidham & Shawn of Yerkes; step-son, Timothy Standafer of Hazard; brother, Pearl Campbell, Jr. of Hazard; sister, Sally Fugate & Jerry of Yerkes; special brother-in-law, Bert Johnson & Nancy; sister-in-law, Sue Sally; cherished grandsons, Brayden, Rylan, Brandon & Kelsey, Zachary & Autumn, Regen, Ethan, Tyler and an unborn grandson on the way; granddaughter, Caitlyn; A host of nieces, nephews, brother & sister-in-laws, and other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Eugene "Gene" Campbell will be conducted on Sunday December 1, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday December 2, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Rev. B.J. Campbell officiating. The Interment will follow in the Couch Cemetery located at Yerkes, Kentucky.
