Flora Oreen Steele born September 27, 1934 departed this life on Saturday August 27, 2022 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 87-years old.  Oreen was born at Dunraven, Kentucky the daughter of the late Chester Billy Fugate and the late Florence Woods Fugate.  Other than her parents, Oreen was also preceded in death by her Son, Larry Fugate, and Three Brothers & One Sister.

Oreen had worked at Engle Funeral Home for the last 53-years.  She never met a stranger, always greeting folks with a warm welcome as they came into the funeral home.  Oreen was always active in politics (especially when Fitz was running), she loved her grandchildren, as she was often seen at their school events.  Oreen was an avid Hazard Bulldog Fan, and even though she battled poor vision in her later years, you could always find her reading the Bible every night.

Flora Oreen Steele leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Daughter, Cheryl Miller & David of Jeff, KY; Son, Fitz Steele of Hazard, KY; Grandchildren, Cassi & Clay, Garrett, Abby and Presley; Great Grandchild, Brynn; Brother, Chester Lee Fugate & Kathy of North Pole, Alaska; Also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Flora Oreen Steele will be conducted on Wednesday August 31, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Merill David Collins and Eric Napier officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Englewood Cemetery located at Christopher, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bulldog Family Fund at 157 Bulldog Lane – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
