Obituary

Adam Frederick "Fred" Combs, 74 of Lotts Creek, Kentucky was born on November 29, 1950.  He gained his heavenly wings on December 31, 2024 surrounded by his family in his home.

Fred was born to the late Rev. James Combs and the late Norma Lee Combs of Lotts Creek, Kentucky.  Aside from the time he spent in the Army, he lived and built a life for his family in the head of Grigsby's Branch.

Fred is survived by his children, Jimmi Lynn Combs & Rodney Davis of Bonnyman, KY, Roger Dean Combs & Joanie of Hazard, Johnathan Frederick Combs of Lotts Creek, Sarah Danielle Gibson & Chris of Berea, KY and Little John Combs of Lotts Creek; 13-grandchildren, Erika, Jake, Shasta, Ryder, Catherine, Dylon, Savannah, Johnathan, Christina, Cheyenne, Lindsey, Kaden and Hunter; 4 beautiful great-grandchildren, Addison, Cohen, Josie, and Xavier.

Fred was one of eight siblings, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna and Sharon Rose; brothers, Eugene and John David.  Fred leaves two sisters surviving, Linda Mullins & Bernie of Ligonier, Indiana and Bernadette Smith of Dwarf, KY; one brother, James Combs & Teresa of Nashville, TN.  Fred had a special friend, Sheenalyn Larsen and a special cousin, Danny Fugate who will miss him immensely.

To know Fred was to experience the very essence of God's kindness, compassion, and generosity.  He had a gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.  Whether you were a lifelong friend or just recently met him, Fred welcomed you with open arms and a warm smile.

Fred's love for his kids, family and life was contagious.  He had a way of making us laugh, cry, and come together in ways that transcended our differences.  His presence was a reminder that we are all connected, and that connection is the greatest gift of all.  As a devoted member of Clearfork Pentecostal Church of God.  Fred embodied the teachings of Christ in every aspect of his life.  He lived with purpose, humility, and a deep commitment to serving others.  His faith was not just a part of who he was – it was the very fabric of his being.

To his family, Fred was a rock, a source of strength, comfort, and guidance.  To his friends, he was a loyal companion, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.  To our community, he was a pillar of kindness, a shining example of what it means to live a life that celebrated our community.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through us.  We will continue to tell stories of his kindness, his generosity, and his unwavering commitment to his family and community.

Rest in Heaven, God's Servant.
