Freeman Ritchie born January 19, 1939 departed this life on Saturday November 23, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center being 85 years old. Freeman was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Robert Ritchie and the late Cornia Stacy Ritchie. Other than his parents, Freeman was also preceded in death by his sons, Freeman Ritchie, Jr., Timothy Ritchie and Mitchell Ritchie; one brother, Larry Ritchie. Freeman was a United States Airforce Veteran having served most of his tour in Japan and enjoyed being outdoors. Freeman loved to talk and reminisce, he was always good to everyone he met and never met a stranger. Freeman married the love of his life on November 10, 1960, Judy Stamper and they were blessed with 64 years.

Freeman Ritchie leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife, Judy Ritchie of Hazard; daughters, Michelle Staley & Scott of Lancaster, KY, Ashley Harp & Rocky of Aurora, IN; one brother, Bobby Ritche of Glomawr; half-brother, Thomas Ritchie of Dayton, OH; sister, Delores Hurt & Marshall of Glomawr; grandchildren, Brandy Combs, Dustin Ritchie, Dalton Adkins, Gabriel Adkins, Noah Ritchie and Aiyana Ritchie. A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.
