Garfield Deaton, Jr. born December 10, 1952 departed this life on Saturday March 1, 2025 at his residence in Hazard, Kentucky being 72-years old.  Jr. was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Garfield Deaton and the late Carrie Boggs Deaton.  Other than his parents, Garfield, Jr. was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Bobbie Ann Deaton; sisters, Irene & Mallie; brothers, Arlis & Homer Lee.

Jr. was a mechanic by occupation, he enjoyed fishing, tinkering with anything that had a motor, and especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.  Jr. is now reunited with the love of his life Bobbie Ann.

Garfield Deaton, Jr. leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: son, James "Dusty" Deaton & Ashley of Girdler, KY; six brothers, Garland & Vickie Deaton of Hazard, Clarence & Karen Deaton of Hazard, Farris & Lisa Deaton of Hazard, Doris & Vanessa Deaton of Viper, Billy Ray & Teresa Deaton of Wooton, and Romas Deaton of Hazard; six sisters, Brenda & Dana Feltner of Chavies, Mary Ann & George Henson of Cummings, Georgia, Delphia Stollings of London, Linda Deaton of Hazard, Carol Deaton of Hazard, and Valerie Deaton of Hazard; four grandchildren, Timothy Kyle Branson & Tiffany of Altro, KY, Dusty Kyle Deaton of Hazard, Hadley Anna-Gail Deaton of Girdler, KY and Kaydence Ande-Grace Deaton of Girdler, KY; special niece, Angie Hill; special friends, Mark Bonke, Darrell & Delorise Branson, Pam & Dean Neace; also a host of niece, nephews, and other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral Services for Garfield Deaton, Jr. will be conducted on Thursday March 6, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Kenny Smith officiating.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Thursday from  12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M.  The Interment will follow in the Mountain Mission Memorial Gardens at Avawam, Kentucky.
