George Palmer Baker born May 13, 1947 departed this life on Wednesday October 9, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 77-years old. George was born in Jackson, Kentucky the son of the late Thomas Baker and the late Mary Jane Neace Baker. Other than his parents, George was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen Baker; brothers, William James, Lee Taylor, Tommy Gene, Isaac, Willard Dean, Warner Aleen; sisters, Stella Mae, Hazel and Lillian Susan. George was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and loved to hunt, fish and was quite the outdoorsman and spent a lot of hours doing Genealogy.

George Palmer Baker leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife, Rhonda Baker of Hazard; sons, George Baker of Jackson, KY, Wayne Whitaker of Hazard; daughters, Tammy Burns & Mike of RI, Jennifer Whitaker of Jackson, KY, Caitlyn Bass of Hazard; brother, Eddie Arnold Baker & Sue of Altro, KY; sisters, Bobbie Jo Filar of Chicago, IL, Mary Magdalene White of Paris Crossing, IN; grandchildren, Shawn Burns, Michael Burns, Alexandra Burns, Brittany Baker, Brodie Tincher, Bentley Tincher, Jaylee Tincher and Sadie Jayne Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Carlie Burns, Matthew Miller and Jackson Burns. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for George Palmer Baker will be conducted on Sunday October 13, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 12:00 till 4:00 P.M.
