Guy Russell Pratt, age 86 of Lexington, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was married to his cherished Wife, the late Jerrye Slusher Pratt, for over 60 years. Mr. Pratt was born Oct. 4, 1936 to the late Denver B. and Lyle Russell Pratt. Other than his parents, Guy was also preceded in death by his Twin Brother, Denver G. Pratt; Three Sisters, Gerry (Orville) Miller, Helen (Paul) Owens, and Lois (Shelby) Armstrong.
Guy Russell Pratt leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Son, Denver (Janice) Pratt; Daughter, Greta (Nona) Pratt; Five Grandchildren, Courtney (Dale) Troxler, Holly Hooven, Callie Kromer, Walton Kromer, and Kyle Pratt; Four Great-Grandchildren, Bennett, Willow, Abigail and Aiden; Sister-In-Law, Ann Johnson Pratt of Lexington; Brother-In-Law, David Winston (Edna) Slusher of Liberty Township, OH.
Guy attended Sayre School, Lafayette High School, Union College and Fugazzi Business College. He and his twin brother inherited Pratt Bros. Coal Company in Eastern Kentucky and after selling their mining interests, he found his calling as Funeral Director and Office Manager at Engle Funeral Home. As a life-long church member he served as a deacon, youth Sunday school teacher and treasurer. He was a much-loved Uncle by many nieces and nephews and he will be remembered for his light-hearted and playful nature. His kindness, wit, caring, and giving spirit will be missed by all.
Visitation for Guy Russell Pratt will be held 10:30 Saturday, March 25 and 12:30 Funeral services, presided by Brother David W. Slusher at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Rd. Interment following at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Steve Armstrong, Walton Kromer, Gary Larkin, Tim McNeely, Dale Troxler; Honorary Pallbearers: Tommy Armstrong, David Metzger, Al Park, Kyle Pratt, Scott Slusher.
