Irene Combs Thompson born December 12, 1943 departed this life on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at her residence in London, Kentucky being 80-years old. Irene was born in Cutshin, Kentucky the daughter of the late Chester Begley and the late Carrie Boggs Deaton. Other than her parents, Irene was also preceded in death by her Step-Father, Garfield Deaton; Husbands, Zenith Combs and Nelson Hauck; Siblings, Arlis Begley, Mallie Begley, Barry Deaton, and Homer Lee Deaton; Daughter, Pamela K. Kilby; Grandchildren, Sarah Jo White and Brandon Kilby. Irene enjoyed shopping, crafts, traveling in the RV and especially going on cruises.

Irene Combs Thompson leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Husband, George L. Thompson of London, KY; Daughters, Louise Basten & Jay of Ann Arbour, MI, Deborah Combs of Troy, OH; Sons, David Combs & Tina of Winder, GA, Tristan M. Thompson of London, KY; Siblings, Garland Deaton & Vickie of Hazard, Mary Ann Henson & George of Cumming, GA, Delphia Stollings of London, KY, Garfield Deaton, Jr. of Hazard, Clarence Deaton & Karen of Hazard, Romas Deaton of Hazard, Farris Deaton & Lisa of Hazard, Doris Deaton of Viper, Linda Deaton of Hazard, Carol Deaton of Hazard, Billy Ray Deaton & Teresa of Wooton, KY, Valerie Deaton of Hazard; Eleven Grandchildren and a host of Great-Grandchildren, and other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Irene Combs Thompson will be held on Thursday February 8, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 4:00 till 6:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Thursday February 8, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. with Charlie Miller officiating.  Graveside Services will be conducted on Friday February 9, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
