James Heath born January 21, 1952 departed this life on Tuesday – October 28, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center being 73-years old.  James was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late George Heath JR and the late Zola Mae Heath.  Other than his parents, James was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Clara Sexton; uncle, Shelby Sexton.

James retired from Cardinal Chevrolet. James was a man of faith whose heart was grounded in life's simple joys. James found peace in attending church, creating crafts at the Senior Center, and spending warm summer days by the pond, surrounded by his flowers and watching his Koi fish swim. James enjoyed quiet moments doing word search puzzles and coloring, letting the gentle focus of these activities bring him calm and contentment. He held a lifelong fascination with Indian Motorcycles and loved talking about them, often dreaming of the day he might call one his own. James raised his daughter with love and care and cherished every moment spent with his three granddaughters, who brought James endless happiness and pride. His grand dogs, Major and Karma, held a special place in his heart — James loved them deeply, and their presence always brightened his days.

James was a generous and caring man who always put others before himself and faced every day with strength, kindness, and love. James will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his giving heart, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His love and generosity will live on through his family — in every story told, every flower planted, and every act of kindness carried forward in his memory.

James Heath leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: daughter, Christy Shoemaker of Hazard, Kentucky; brothers, David M. Heath from Krypton, Kentucky, George W. Heath of Hazard, Kentucky; Special Cousin, Ferris J. Sexton; grandchildren, Madison Fugate, Kylie, Morris, and Nicole Morris; grand dogs, Major, and Karma;  also a host of nieces and nephews survive.

Memorial service for James Heath will be held on Sunday – November 2, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Funeral Service Sunday- November 2, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Buddy Turner officiating.
