Jason Scott Smith born May 18, 1982, departed this life on Thursday – September 11, 2025, at his residence in Scuddy, Kentucky being 43-years old.  Jason was born in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Chris Smith and the late Marty Wells.  Other than his parents, Jason was also preceded in death by his brothers, Justin Smith, Danny Moten; mother-in -law, Rachel Wooton; father-in-law, James Wooton.

Jason Smith leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife, Carol Smith; son, Caleb Combs; daughter, Renee Ritchie; brothers, Mike Smith & Angel, Jerry Smith, Christopher Smith, Robbie Moten; grandchildren, Rachel Ritchie, Jeremiah Ritchie; nieces, Allie Elliot, Kayla Elliot, Brooklyn Wooton, Jaylynn Wooton; nephews, Bently Smith, Tyler Smith, Brandon Slone and Jacob Smith; a host of many other family & friends survive.

Visitation for Jason Smith will be held on Tuesday - September 16, 2025, at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, Kentucky from 11:00 – 2:00 P.M.  Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Merrill David Collins officiating. The Interment will follow in the Scuddy Family Cemetery located at Scuddy, Kentucky.
