Jerdon "Jerry" Gross, born March 8, 1957, departed this life on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky, at 68 years of age.

Jerry was born in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Floyd and Minta Gross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Gross, brothers Samuel Gross and Charles "Charlie John" Gross, and Goddaughter, Samantha Sizemore Combs.

Jerry was known for his playful spirit and quick humor, always ready to tease or joke with the people he loved most. He was also unapologetically direct, never one to sugarcoat his thoughts, but those who knew him best understood that his honesty came from a place of deep loyalty and love. His fierce devotion to his family and friends was the heart of who he was.

Jerry leaves behind many loved ones to cherish his memory, including his daughters: Amy Gross and Tabatha Hanlon (Brian), both of Hazard, Kentucky; and his four granddaughters: Katherine Miller (Nicolas), Allison Hanlon, Kennedy McPeek, and Alexis McPeek. He is also survived by his fiancée, Lois Miller; his brothers Jack Gross (Jill) of Louisville, Kentucky, Buck Gross (Victoria) of Lexington, Kentucky, and David Gross (Margaret) of Hazard, Kentucky; and his sisters Janice Horton of Hyden, Kentucky, Rita Snyder of Hazard, Kentucky, Pam Ashley (Dwayne) of Hazard, Kentucky, and Elouise Cotrel (Chris) of Lebanon, Missouri. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Rita Gross (Samuel), of Hazard, Kentucky: his longtime friend, Brenda Sizemore of Hazard, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center.

The family will hold a private memorial service for family and close friends at a later date.
