Jerry B. Prater born October 15, 1948 departed this life on Wednesday – May 14, 2025 at the Hazard ARH Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky being 76-years old.  Jerry was born in Magoffin County, Kentucky the son of the late Bacel Prater and the late Gladys Prater.  Other than his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Prater; brother, Roger Prater.

Jerry loved UK sports.

Jerry B. Prater leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: daughter, Amie Bush & Alvin (Chip); sister Juanita Shelton; grandchildren, Autumn & James Wilder, Caleb Banks & Emilee, Emily Vires, Luke Vires; great grandchildren, Abigail, Madilyn, Natalie, and Nylah Wilder, and a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Jerry Prater will be conducted on Saturday – May 17, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.  The Funeral Service will be on Sunday – May 18, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. with Barry Hamilton officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Prater Family Cemetery located at Magoffin County, Kentucky.
