Jerry "Slick" Smith born April 18, 1954 departed this life on Wednesday January 4, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 68-years old. Jerry was born at Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Robert Smith and the late Alma Williams Smith. Other than his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by his Wife, Lucille Smith; Two Brothers, Larry Smith and Otto Smith; Two Sisters, Gertrude Brewer and Freda Whitaker. Jerry loved to work and repair things, spending time with his family especially his Grandson, and his love for Mustangs.

Jerry "Slick" Smith leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Son, Jerry Travis Smith & Becky of Jackson, KY; Four Brothers, Bruce Smith & Betty of Avawam, KY, Ronnie Smith & Shirley of Hazard, Bobby Smith of MI, Tinsley Smith of MI; Sister, Lillie Davidson of MI; Grandson, Chase Lee Hobbs; Special Friend, Andrew Eversole. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Jerry "Slick" Smith will be conducted on Sunday January 8, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home. The Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery located at Big Creek, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Chase Hobbs, Andy Eversole, Josh Joseph, Jason Smith, Marcus Morris, and Buck Jones. Honorary Pallbearer, Wayne Bowling.
