Jimmy "Catfish" Vanover born January 31, 1934 departed this life on Saturday August 20, 2022 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 88-years old. Jimmy was born at Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Henry Vanover and the late Mary Joseph Vanover. Other than his parents, Jimmy was also preceded in death by One Son, Steven Timothy Vanover; One Daughter, Angela Vanover; Brothers, Thomas Vanover, Reason Vanover, Andy Vanover, Benjamin Vanover; Sisters, Eliza Jane Fields, Anna Vires, Melissa Ramey, Judy Belle Mosley, Josephine Sizemore, Louverna Hall, Nancy Vires, and Betty Jo Eversole. Jimmy was a Member of the Trinity Pentecostal Church.

Jimmy "Catfish" Vanover leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Wife of 58-years, Melda Sue Vanover of Hazard; One Son, Mike Vanover of Hazard; Three Daughters, Pamela Fields & Joe of Corbin, KY, Mary Elizabeth Couch & Shannon of Austin, IN, Barbara Kristin Vanover of Louisville, KY; One Brother, Sam Vanover of Clay City, KY; Eight Grandchildren, Seth, Anthony, Okeya, Monica, Celeste, Kendra, Alexandra and Nick; Eleven Great-Grandchildren, Lexi, Luke, Tristan, Christian, David Joseph, Othniel, Keturah, Zane, Aundrea, Avery, and Aryah. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Memorial Services for Jimmy "Catfish" Vanover will be conducted on Wednesday August 24, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Big Creek Pentecostal Church Impact Center with David Spears officiating. The Visitation will be at the Big Creek Pentecostal Church Impact Center on Wednesday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M.
