Jimmy Dale "Jay Boy" Hughes born July 15, 1947 departed this life on Monday May 2, 2022 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 74-years old.  Jay Boy was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Elisha Hughes and the late Nancy Ann Hughes.  Other than his parents, Jay Boy was also preceded in death by his Wife, Debra Hughes; Son, Brian Scott Hughes; Granddaughter, Victoria Elizabeth Blair; Brothers, Glenn Noble, Kenneth Wayne Hughes, Ellis Hughes, and Don Gwinn; Sisters, Jacklyn Miller, Mary Ruth Hughes, and Janis Smith.  Jay Boy was a lifelong resident of Perry County and was a retired Truck Driver.

Jimmy Dale "Jay Boy" Hughes leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Grandchildren, Briana Hughes, Cody Hughes & Erica, and Austin Hughes; Great-Grandchildren, Peyton, Brooklyn, Bella, Gracelyn, and Mallory; Brothers, Junior Hughes & Anne, Ben Hughes, Taylor Ray Hughes & Judy, Robert Hughes & Rhonda, and Elvin Gwinn; Sisters, Ruby Hughes & Carlos and Etta Joan Baker; Special Friends, Velda Collins and Tyler Roberts; a host of family and friends also survives.

Funeral Services for Jimmy Dale "Jay Boy" Hughes will be conducted on Friday May 6, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Mullins officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Whitaker – Hughes Cemetery located at Clearfork.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
