Jimmy Carroll Mayhew born April 18, 1933 departed this life on Wednesday September 18, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 91-years old. Jimmy was born in Leatherwood, Kentucky the son of the late Bill Mayhew and the late Edith Asher Mayhew. Other than his parents, Jimmy was also preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Adolph, Billy and Franklin; sisters, Nadine and Norma; one grandson, Scott Cornett. Jimmy was a United States Army Veteran and Member of the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church.

Jimmy Carroll Mayhew leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: son, Greg Mayhew & Norma of Benham, KY; daughters, Lisa Brown & Bill of Morristown, TN, Tammy Asbury of Morristown, TN; sister, Ruth Martin of TX; eight grandchildren, Fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Jimmy Carroll Mayhew be held on Friday September 20, 2024 at the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church after 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday September 21, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church. The Interment will follow in the Mayhew Family Cemetery located at Leatherwood, Kentucky. Military Rites will be performed by the Hazard-Perry County D.A.V. Chapter #64.
