John C. Campbell, Jr. born March 15, 1943 departed this life on Tuesday – May 13, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 82-years old.  John C. was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late John C. Campbell, Sr. and the late Mae Colwell Campbell.  Other than his parents, John C. was also preceded in death by his sister, Dena Campbell.

John C. was a member of the Krypton Masonic Lodge #905 for 61-years and served as secretary for 47 of those years.  John C. was also a member of the Krypton Order of the Eastern Star #578.  John C. was a founding member of the Krypton Fire Department, serving as the first Chief from 2000-2017.   There was two churches that John C. held dear to his heart, churches that molded his life, the Yerkes Baptist Church and Krypton Brethren Church.

John C. Campbell, Jr. leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 61-years, Judy Marlene Campbell of Krypton, KY; son, John Logan "Pete" Campbell & Sandy of Krypton, KY; granddaughters, Hannah Combs & Tyler of Red House, WV and Katherine "Katie" Mullins & Tyler of Lexington, KY; two great-grandchildren, Adaline & Asher Combs; sister, Peggy Campbell & Denny of Yerkes, KY; two brothers, Rodney Campbell & Rita of Yerkes, KY and Jody Campbell & Helen Ascani of Hazard, KY; special friend, Bobby Mullins, and members of the Krypton Masonic Lodge #905, Krypton Volunteer Fire Department, and a host of many other relatives & friends survive.

Visitation will be held on Saturday – May 17, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. with Masonic Rites to be held at 1:30 P.M.  Funeral Services will be conducted at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Saturday at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Paul Sluss and Pastor Pete Youmans officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Combs Cemetery located at Krypton, Kentucky.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center – 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove – Hazard, KY 41701.
