John Robert Smith born May 17, 1970 departed this life on June 26, 2022 in Michigan being 52-years old.  John was born in Flint, Michigan the son of Matilda Whitaker Smith and the late Otto Smith.  Other than his father, John was also preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Robert & Alma Smith; Maternal Grandparents, John & Flossie Whitaker; Uncles, Larry Smith, Ed Whitaker, Charles Whitaker, Earl Whitaker and Bud Whitaker; Aunts, Emmalene Whitaker, Freda Smith, Gertrude Brewer, Lucille Smith and Eunice Smith.  John was always the life of the party, he loved to play guitar and drums, he loved his dog "Little Ni" and most of all loved his family and friends.

John Robert Smith leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Daughter, Johnna Rae Smith of Monroe, Michigan; Mother, Matilda Whitaker-Smith of Somerset, KY; Sister, Amanda Kay Golden & Ben of Somerset, KY; Niece, Ryleigh Sophia Golden; Nephew, Elias Otto Golden; Life Companion, Autumn Shack; Extended Family, Kelly McIntosh-Butler, Deanna McIntosh, Jim McIntosh, and Jimmy McIntosh; also a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral Services for John Robert Smith will be conducted on Saturday July 2, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Amanda Golden officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery located at Big Creek, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards funeral expenses.
