John Walter Stacy born June 19, 1964 departed this life on Tuesday – June 30, 2026 in Hazard, Kentucky being 62-years old.  John was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Charlie Stacy and the late Gerlene Stidham Stacy.  Other than his parents, John was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John & Orlena Stacy; maternal grandparents, Walter & Lorene Stidham; sister, Charlene Stacy.

John spent years working with Senator Brandon Smith, he worked alongside Martha Greer at her realty company, and most recently at the Perry County Attorney's Office.  John devoted much time to charities, such as the Homeless Shelter, Perry County Senior Citizens, Hospice, Corner Haven and Community Ministries.  John was special to everyone in many different ways, his life was so inspiring, he was a servant to many, his service earned him "Man of the Year" honors at the 2016 Hazard-Perry County Civic Night.

John Walter Stacy leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: brother, Charlie "Bugs" Stacy, Jr. & wife Brenda of Busy, KY; nieces & nephews, Bryan Scott Miller, Loran Michelle Belcher, Dr. Forrest Smith & Destin, Candace Hope Stacy-Adkins & Austin, Tyler Jay Stacy, Houston Smith, Creston Smith, Grey Smith, Kipling Smith, and Rousseau Smith; great nieces & nephews, Jasmine Hope Baker, Velle Smith, Kent Smith, and Charlie Jade Adkins; also a host of many other relatives & friends survive.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday – July 11, 2026 at New Hope Church – Hazard, Kentucky at 1:00 P.M. with Kevin Lloyd officiating.  A dinner and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service.
