Josephine Godsey Jones born January 20, 1934 departed this life on Monday – March 30, 2026 being 92-years old.  Josephine was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Drew Godsey and the late Norma Lovins Godsey.  Other than her parents, Josephine was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jones; sons, Dale Jones and Jerry Jones; great-grandson, Cash; brothers, Bill Godsey and Howard Godsey; sister, Louise Pollard.

Josephine was a member of the Petrey Memorial Baptist Church and the Perry County Retired Teachers Association, where she taught 33-years all with the Perry County School System.  Josephine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved her time traveling with all her family, making memories that will be cherished forever.

Josephine Godsey Jones leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: daughter, Angela Brashear & Todd of London; son, Jody Todd Jones of Bulan; brother, Ed Godsey of Bulan; grandchildren, Huey, Jeremy & Renee, Andrea & Tony, Emily & Ridge, Kelsey, Hunter, and Matt; great-grandchildren, Cody, Caden & Kaitlyn, Kaylen, Haylee, Koltyn, Lauren, Lance, Anthony, E.J., Kash, Kyrie, and Adelynn; great-great-grandchild, Kaysen Drew; caregiver, Shilon Combs; also a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral Services for Josephine Godsey Jones will be conducted on Friday – April 3, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Pennington and Jeff Ritchie officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Engle Cemetery at Trace.  Visitation will be held on Friday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center at 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
