Linnis Whitaker born October 30, 1940 departed this life on Friday – June 27, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 84-years old.  Linnis was born at Blackey, Kentucky the son of the late Kirby Whitaker and the late Josephine Caudill Whitaker.  Other than his parents, Linnis was also preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Whitaker, Ronald Whitaker and Douglas Whitaker.  Linnis loved fishing, being outdoors and bird watching.  Linnis was a former Game Warden in Perry County, was a retired bus driver with the Perry County School System, and was a member of the Wabaco Pentecostal Church.  Linnis adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and cherished the time he spent with family & friends.

Linnis Whitaker leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 65-years, Anna Mae Whitaker of Viper, KY; son, Marty Whitaker & Carolyn of Vicco, KY; daughters, Cheryl Campbell & Dennis of Viper,  KY and Kathy Fugate & Kenneth of LaFollette, TN; brother, Roger Dale "Buck" Whitaker of Bakersfield, California; sisters, Linda Sue Dunn of Indiana and Mary Gail Adams of Blackey, KY; 5-grandchildren, 9-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Linnis Whitaker will be held on Sunday – June 29, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will be held on Sunday – June 29, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Turner officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center at 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
