Mary Lawrence Watts Steele born September 6, 1922 departed this life on Friday June 23, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 100-years old.  Mary was born in Vicco, Kentucky the daughter of the late Taylor Watts and the late Cora Noble Watts.  Other than her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her Husband, Burnice Steele; Brothers, Hargis, Floyd, Jack, Luther, Ollie, Ishmael, and Jimmy; Sisters, Virgil, Clara, and Carrie.  Mary attended the former Methodist Church in Vicco, loved to go Bowling.  Mary was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball.

Mary Lawrence Watts Steele leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Daughter, Anita June Steele Johnson of Sassafras, KY; Son, Rick Steele & Linda of Jeff, KY; Grandchildren, Stacy Johnson & Jeff of Ft. Thomas, Russell Ray Johnson & Chrissy of Richmond, Todd Johnson & Kirby Walters of Emmalena, Brady Webb Johnson of Richmond, Ricky Steele & Morgan of Booneledge, and Jaime Coffey & Chris of Sassafras; Great-Grandchildren, Haley, Luke, Adam, Lucy, Jake, Jessica, Cameron, Kyle, Max, Hope, Alyssa, Garrett, Brooklyn, Micah, Lyla, Davis, Bellami, and Preston; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Alayna; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Mary Lawrence Watts Steele will be conducted on Tuesday June 27, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Dylan Combs officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.
