Melda Sue Vanover born December 31, 1944 departed this life on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 80-years old.  Melda was born in Hyden, Kentucky the daughter of the late Charles Hamilton and the late Elizabeth Hamilton.  Other than her parents, Melda was also preceded in death by her Husband, James Vanover; Son, Steve Vanover; Daughter, Angela Vanover; Three Brothers, Riley, Roy, and Earl Hamilton; Sister, Sylvia Smith. Melda was a retired nurse from the Perry County Health Department and  a member of the Big Creek Pentecostal Impact Center.  She loved church, singing, family, traveling and camping.

Melda Sue Vanover leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Son, James Michael Vanover of Hazard; Three Daughters, Pamela Fields  & Joe of Corbin, KY, Mary Couch & Shannon of Hazard and Kristine Kilburn & Rex of Frankfort, KY; Five Brothers, Bob Hamilton & Edith of Hazard, Larry Hamilton & Ena of Hazard, Barry Hamilton & Donna of Hazard, Coy Hamilton & Mary Beth of Pound, VA, Dean Hamilton of Lexington, Sisters, Betty Eversole of Big Creek, and Barbara Baker & Terry  of Big Creek; Eight Grandchildren, Anthony, Okeya, Monica, Celeste, Kendra, Seth, Alexandra, and Nicholas; Eleven Great-Grandchildren, Lexi, Luke, Tristan, Christian, DJ, Othniel, Keturah, Zane, Aundrea, Avery, Aryah, and Hadassah. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Melda Sue Vanover will be Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 2:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. and Celebration of Life at 3:00 P.M. at the Big Creek Pentecostal Church Impact Center with David Spears officiating.
