Melody Prater born March 21, 1975 departed this life on Friday – August 22, 2025 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 50-years old.  Melody was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Tommy Day and the late Carolyn Sexton, other than her parents Melody was also preceded in death by her father, Cartis Sexton; biological mother, Brenda Miller; brothers, David Wayne Blackburn, Miles Anthony Blackburn; grandfather, Marion Melton.

Melody Prater leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: son, Harley Day; daughter, Felicia Moore; brother, CJ Sexton; sisters, Nikki Croll, Lisa Zimmerman; grandchildren, Jaxon Thompson, Charles Day, Sabastian Day, Walker Day.

Memorial Service for Melody Prater will be held on Monday – August 25, 2025 from 6:00– 8:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home. The interment will follow at the Melton Cemetery in Carbon Glow, Kentucky.
