Melvin Smith born April 9, 1952 departed this life on Wednesday February 26, 2025 at his residence in Busy, Kentucky being 72-years old.  Melvin was born in Perry County the son of the late Jimmy Smith and the late Ethel Smith Smith.  Other than his parents, Melvin was also preceded in death by a host of brothers & sisters.  Melvin was a member of the Hickory Gap Pentecostal Church.

Melvin Smith leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife, Ann Smith of Busy, KY; sons, Larry Smith of Hazard, KY, Stacy Smith & Amanda of Hardburly, and Randall Roberson of Floyd County; daughters, Lelia Miniard & Geary of Second Creek, Crystal Amburgey & Bennett of Hindman, Melvina Melton & Benny of Busy, Odessia Bush & Denver of Krypton, Marie Sandlin & Kelly of Buckhorn; brother, Chester "Chet" Smith of Ohio; sisters, Elsie Neace of Ohio, Betty Shepherd of Ohio, Carolyn Neace of Chavies, Mimmie Baker of Barwick, Marilyn Estep of Lexington, Brenda Estep of Chavies, Linda McKenzie of Paintsville, Mona Faye Campbell of Campbell's Creek, and Rose Mary Baker of Barwick; 14-grandchildren, 9-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral Services for Melvin Smith will be conducted on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Stidham and Rev. B.J. Campbell officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Mountain Memory Gardens at Hindman, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Monday Evening from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
