Mike Whitaker born June 21, 1972 departed this life on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at his residence in Big Creek, Kentucky being 51-years old.  Mike was born in Lexington, Kentucky the son of the late Bobby Whitaker and the late Sally Eversole Whitaker.  Other than his parents, Mike was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Irvin & Zona Eversole and paternal grandparents, Clyde & Cora Whitaker.

Mike had worked as the Service Writer for Tim Short Chevrolet for the past 18-years.  He was a devoted father, loyal & faithful husband, and loving brother.  Mike was an avid sports fan, coaching baseball and basketball for many years and always enjoyed helping the youth in their sports.  Mike was a member of the 11th Hour Worship Center where he served as a Deacon, sound & media operator, Sunday School Superintendent, and actively did fundraisers to support the church.  Mike loved the Lord and serving his church anyway he could.

Mike Whitaker leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 27-years, Joyce Whitaker of Big Creek; son, Nick Whitaker of Big Creek; sister, Pam Stacy & Greg of Big Creek; brother, Lowell Whitaker of Big Creek; nephews, Brandon Stacy of Big Creek and Gregory Stacy of Missouri; great-niece, Kylie Stacy, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and many friends survive.

Visitation for Mike Whitaker will be held on Friday evening at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. with additional singing service to be held at 7:00 P.M. with Kevin Wilson.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday February 10, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Joseph, Daniel Joseph, and Ethan Hamilton officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Whitaker Family Cemetery located at Big Creek, Kentucky.
