Nancy Sue Gayheart born March 31, 1941 departed this life on Thursday September 21, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center being 82-years old.  Nancy was born in Bulan, Kentucky the daughter of the late Bill Combs and the late Hazel Francis Combs.  Other than her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband, Anderson "Pete" Gayheart; brother, Phil Combs; brother-in-law, Danny Carter.  Nancy was an avid reader, and loved traveling and spending time with her family.

Nancy Sue Gayheart leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: daughter, Alexa Newsome & Rick of Hazard; son, Mark Anderson Gayheart & Barbara of Pearl River, Louisiana; brother, Clark Combs & Inez of Chesapeake, Virginia; sister, Frances Carter of Eubank, KY; grandchildren, Zach Boggs & Jennifer of Berea, KY, Austin Boggs of Georgetown, KY; Ande Newsome of Hazard, and Hunter Newsome of Lexington, KY; great-grandchildren, Raina Boggs, Evan Boggs, and Riley Grace Boggs all of Berea, KY; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Sunday October 1, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home.  The Visitation will be held on Sunday October 1, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
