Opal Asher born January 3, 1935 departed this life on Sunday October 15, 2023 at the Hazard A.R.H being 88-years old. Opal was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Clinton Chapman and the late Elizabeth Begley Chapman. Other than her Parents, Opal was also preceded in death by her Husband, Kermit Asher; One Daughter, Debra Jean Asher; Brothers, Frank, Doug, Willie, Charles, and Lindsey; Sisters, Goldie, Vivian, and Eloise. Opal was a Member of the Berean Baptist Church and loved to sew, quilt, knit, crocheting, working in her flowers and fishing.

Opal Asher leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: Son, Dwight Asher & Jennifer of Slemp; Daughters, Diane Couch of Slemp and Felicia Sue Riddell of Slemp; Sisters, Phyllis Apsley & Jack of IN, Bonnie Hall of IN; Grandchildren, Shane Couch, Samuel Lee Dixon, Michael Scott Dixon, and Christopher David Asher; Great-Grandchildren, Cheyenne Couch, Katelyn Couch, Dylan Couch, Laura Elizabeth Couch, Maysen Sophia Dixon, Jaxon Sholly, Maddox Lee Dixon, Greyson Dixon, James Dixon, Kylie Dixon, Jacob Dixon. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Opal Asher will be conducted on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Berean Baptist Church with Charles Bush and Allen Shepherd officiating. The Interment will follow in the Asher Family Cemetery located at Slemp, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Berean Baptist Church on Tuesday evening after 6:00 P.M.
