Rick Sturdivant born May 15, 1957 departed this life on Wednesday January 29, 2025 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 67-years old.  Rick was born in Vest, Kentucky the son of the late James Sturdivant and the late Anita Patrick Sturdivant.  Other than his parents, Rick was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alonzo & Elzora Patrick; and paternal grandmother, Lola Sturdivant.  Rick worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment operator and was a faithful member of the Hazard First Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Youth & Adult Sunday School Teacher, and sang in the choir. Rick also served as a Volunteer Chaplain at the Hazard A.R.H. for several years.

Rick Sturdivant leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 43-years, Bobbe Sturdivant of Hazard, KY; daughter, Jessica Gibson & Heath of Sadieville, KY; brother, Ron Sturdivant & Melesa of Winchester, KY; sisters, Robyn Sturdivant of New York and Virginia Sue Nadzam & Matt of Ohio; grandsons, Beau Gibson and Ridge Gibson; also a host of aunts, uncles, church family, and other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Rick Sturdivant will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hazard First Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Patrick Family Cemetery located at Vest, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Hazard First Baptist Church on Saturday February 1, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
